2017 FHA Loan Limits Increase

Below is a list of changes announced by the Federal Housing Administration regarding 2017 loan limits, effective Jan. 1, 2017

2017 FHA Loan Limits

In order to keep pace with rising home prices, the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) increased loan limits for the first time since 2006. These new limits are for case numbers pulled on or after Jan. 1, 2017, and will remain in place through the end of the year.

Here is a breakdown of the changes:

  • In most areas of the country, the maximum loan limit for one-unit properties will be $424,100, an increase from $417,000.

  • In high-cost areas, the national loan limit ‘ceiling’ increased to $636,150 from $625,500.
